Bull Valley Road Bicycle and Pedestrian Accommodations

Project Description 

Construction of a 10-foot wide multi-use path along the north side of Bull Valley Road from the Prairie Trail to IL Route 31 in the City of McHenry. Widening Bull Valley Road at the Prairie Trail to add a median refuge island, extending the Union Pacific Railroad crossing to accommodate the multi-use path, constructing a new bridge over a tributary to the Fox River east of Ridgeview Drive.

Installation of roadway lighting along Bull Valley Road/Charles J Miller Road from Cunat Drive to Green Street/Barreville Road and along Illinois Route 31 from Medical Center Drive to Bank Drive.

Project Status

Phase I preliminary engineering is underway. 
Phase II design engineering is underway. 
Phase III construction anticipated to start in 2027.
