Taking photos of your home and belongings before disaster strikes would be helpful after the disaster occurs. The photos help you to prove that you had what you had, and makes insurance claims potentially easier and less stressful. Collecting documentation of serial numbers on items would be a good thing to store too. This may be a little of a process but you will thank yourself later.
