When can Assessment Complaints be Filed with the County? What is the Deadline?
You must file within 30 days of the date of publication of the township. The links below can give the progress of the townships in McHenry County.

After completing the Complaint, Grid(s) and saving to your computer, click the "SUBMIT YOUR COMPLAINT" link located on this page. Enter the required information. Be sure to enter your email address at the bottom of the screen and you will be sent a copy of your Complaint and evidence. Also, there are addition upload boxes available for more evidence and/or documentation in support of your complaint.
When sending photos as evidence, please be sure that the Property Index Numbers or addresses are labeled on each photo, a template is available for download. The Board should easily be able to identify images.
After sending the file you will receive a message that your Complaint was submitted.
Right click on the Complaint Form below that you wish to file, select "Save target/link as" or download the file to your computer. This will allow you to save the PDF form(s) to your computer. Complete the form(s) and save the file(s) to your computer. By downloading any of the following fillable forms, it will be assumed that the Board of Review rules have been reviewed by the individuals filing the complaint.
NOTE THAT A COMPLAINT FORM MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH A GRID, THESE ARE REQUIRED ITEMS.

- Note that every representative must submit this form or similar proof of authorization with the complaint. Failure to due so may result in a Dismissal.
- A complaint that is Dismissed can not be appealed to the State of Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board (PTAB).
- Vacancy Affidavit
- This form is to be completed when a Commercial Property, aka an Income Producing Property, is experiencing market induced vacancies.
- The Board of Review requests three years of financial reports to show the property's history.
