The McHenry County Government has a long and proud history of strategic planning to achieve the objectives of its residents and create a better future. Beginning in December of 1999, the McHenry County Board approved its first Strategic Plan, which has started a tradition that has continued to this day. On July 15, 2025, the Board approved its fifth strategic plan, covering the years 2025 through 2028.
The McHenry County 2025-2028 Strategic Plan is divided into six different key issue areas as depicted in this logo. Each overlaps and interconnects with one another to create the County Board's vision for the future.
Each key issue are in turn divided into goals, each of which have their own actions for completion over the next three years. To review the plan, select 2025-2028 Strategic Plan.
