Options for paying your property tax bill:

  • Payments can be mailed
    • Mailing address is PO Box 458, Crystal Lake, IL 60039
    • Do not mail cash
  • Payments can be in person at our office at 2100 N. Seminary Ave in Woodstock
    • In our lobby or our drive up facility.
    • Payments can be made with cash, check or credit cards.        
                      Cash Payment Policy
    • Credit card payments have a 2.35% convenience fee.
    • Visa Debit card $3.95 flat fee.  All other debit cards have a 2.35% convenience fee.
  • Payments can be made online at www.mchenrytreasurer.org    
    • Electronic check payments (E-Checks) have a flat fee, depending on the payment amount.

                $0 to $50,000                                 $ 1.00 fee
                $50,000.01 to $80,000                  $ 3.00 fee
                $80,000.01 to $100,000                $ 8.50 fee
                $100,000.01 to $250,000              $10.00 fee         

    • Credit card payments carry a 2.35% convenience fee.

  • Payments can be made by phone at 1-877-690-3729
    • You will need to use Jurisdiction Code 2301.

  • Many banks in the county will accept tax payments

  • Cash or checks are accepted at banks (no credit cards).
  • You are required to bring your original tax bill or a copy of your tax bill.
  • Banks are able to provide you with a receipt.
  • No late payment can be made at the bank.
  • You do not need to have an account at that bank in order to make the payment.
  • Payments are accepted on or before the installment due date.
