Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic the Department of Planning and Development has continued to process permit applications, issue permits, and conduct inspections based on on-line applications and payment procedures.
From March 1 through May 15, staff conducted nearly 350 permit reviews and issued 200 permits. 87% of reviews were completed and 69% of permits were issued within two weeks.
As we enter Phase 3 of Restore Illinois, for everyone’s safety, property owners and the public are encouraged to continue to submit permit applications and payments on-line using the application checklists and forms available at https://www.mchenrycountyil.gov/county-government/departments-j-z/planning-development/applications-checklists. Property owners and applicants are encouraged to call with questions and to request an appointment if a meeting is required. Walk-ins will be accommodated if the correct staff and adequate office space is available.
