Timothy Colby Sentenced to Six Years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the Offense of Drug-Induced Homicide

TIMOTHY COLBY SENTENCED TO SIX YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR THE OFFENSE OF DRUG INDUCED HOMICIDE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that Timothy Colby, 44, of Johnsburg, Illinois, was sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by Honorable Judge Michael Coppedge after pleading guilty to Drug-Induced Homicide, a Class X Felony.
On July 10, 2018, Shawn Ackerman, of McHenry Illinois, died of a heroin overdose. An investigation confirmed that Colby was responsible for the delivery of the fatal heroin dose.
This case was investigated by members of the McHenry Police Department. This case was prosecuted by Brian Miller of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
