Reanna Salas Sentenced to Four Years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for Delivery of a Controlled Substance

REANNA SALAS SENTENCED TO FOUR YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR DELIVERY OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that Reanna R. Salas, 20, of Cary, Illinois, was found guilty of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a Class 3 felony, following a negotiated plea before the Honorable Robert Wilbrandt.

On May 14, 2018, Salas delivered alprazolam to Jacob Reis, who in turn delivered the alprazolam to Rachel Ramirez. Rachel Ramirez died as a result of a fatal drug overdose. Medical and toxicological examination revealed that Rachel Ramirez died of a polysubstance overdose, including alprazolam.

Salas was sentenced to a sentence of four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections pursuant to the plea. Reis had been previously sentenced to four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

This case was investigated by members of the Cary Police Department. This case was prosecuted by Robert Ladd of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
