McHenry County Water Forum to Address Flooding
WOODSTOCK, Ill. – The volume and intensity of rainfall in McHenry County is increasing, which increases the potential for more frequent flooding in our communities. This year’s McHenry County Water Forum aims to educate the public on flooding in McHenry County, what to expect in the future, and how individuals and their local governments can adapt to increasing rainfall.
The forum, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the McHenry County College auditorium, 8900 U.S. Route 14, Building B, in Crystal Lake.
The annual Water Forum is a unique opportunity for residents, business leaders, municipal staff and elected officials in McHenry County to learn about water resources from some of the most knowledgeable professionals in their fields. The program will begin with catered food from Dukes Ale House and Kitchen followed by a great line up of guest speakers.
Guests also will have the opportunity to speak one-on-one with a variety of water resource professionals, such as engineers, ecologists, planners and conservationists.
