Michael Briley Sentenced to 14 Years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the Offense of Possession of 400-900 Grams of Cocaine

MICHAEL BRILEY SENTENCED TO 14 YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR THE OFFENSE OF POSSESSION OF 400-900 GRAMS OF COCAINE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that Michael Briley, 54, was sentenced to 14 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by the Honorable Judge Michael Coppedge after pleading guilty to Possession of 400-900 Grams of Cocaine, a Class 1 Felony. 

On August 31, 2017, an Illinois State Police Trooper stopped a car, in which Briley was a passenger, on Interstate 90. Briley, who was travelling from Chicago to Minnesota, had more than 430 grams, or just under one pound, of cocaine on his person.

This case was investigated by members of the Illinois State Police. This case was prosecuted by Brian Miller of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
