Colette Kennedy Joins McHenry County as Assistant State's Attorney in the Civil Division

COLETTE KENNEDY JOINS MCHENRY COUNTY AS ASSISTANT STATE’S ATTORNEY IN THE CIVIL DIVISION
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, is pleased to announce that Colette Kennedy has joined the Office as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Civil Division.
Colette brings 14 years of experience from the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, Environmental Crimes Bureau, where she coordinated and lead investigations of environmental crimes working with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Illinois Environmental Agency, the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. She handled all aspects of cases involving air, land, or water pollution including those involving asbestos, hazardous waste, open dumping, concentrated animal feeding operations and the pollution of waterways. Prior to this position, Colette was employed by the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office as an Assistant State’s Attorney from 2002 to 2005, where she gained extensive experience prosecuting domestic violence, traffic, misdemeanor, DUI and juvenile delinquency cases.
Ms. Kennedy earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Speech Communication, cum laude, from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Illinois, College of Law at Urbana-Champaign.
