William J. Dugar, Jr. Found Guilty of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child and Aggravated Criminal Sexal Abuse

WILLIAM J. DUGAR, JR. FOUND GUILTY OF PREDATORY CRIMINAL SEXUAL ASSAULT OF A CHILD AND AGGRAVATED CRIMINAL SEXUAL ABUSE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that 29-year-old William J. Dugar, Jr., previously of Elgin, Illinois, was found guilty on June 6, 2019 of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child and Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse following a bench trial in front of the Honorable Judge Robert A. Wilbrandt.
During the trial, the victim testified and the victim’s prior statements at the Child Advocacy Center of McHenry County were introduced. There was testimony from another witness as to acts of sexual conduct and penetration that occurred while she was a minor in 2010 in Kane County.
Defendant is not eligible for probation and may be sentenced from nine to 67 years in the Department of Corrections. Under Truth-in-Sentencing Guidelines, Dugar must serve 85% of his sentence on the Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child charge and he will have to register as a lifetime sex offender upon his release from prison.
Defendant is scheduled to be sentenced on July 19, 2019 at 1:30 P.M. This case was investigated by Detective Duncan of the Crystal Lake Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorneys Sharyl Eisenstein and Mary Ann Scholl.
