WOODSTOCK IL – McHenry County Department of Health (MCDH) and McHenry County Division of Transportation are providing a residential tire recycling event at no charge for registered McHenry County residents. Participants may drop off tires on Saturday, June 8th 2019, from 8 am to noon at the McHenry County Division of Transportation, 16111 Nelson Road, Woodstock, Illinois. This is an opportunity for people to remove used tires from their property and help to eliminate potential disease-causing mosquito breeding sites.
Sign-up is required by contacting MCDH at 815-334-4585. Be prepared to provide the number and type of tires you plan to recycle.
Only tires from McHenry County residents will be accepted.
Tires must be removed from the metal rim and free of water, mud and other debris.
Tires accepted are limited to light truck, passenger and smaller sized tires.
The number of tires per participant may be limited by the Department.
Other types of recyclable materials will not be accepted.
Tires from businesses or commercial enterprises will not be accepted.
Grant funding for this event is provided by the Illinois Department of Public Health via the Vector Surveillance and Control Grant. The tires will be recycled by Treadstone Tire Recycling. Because funding is limited, registration may be closed if the maximum number of tires allowed by the grant funding is reached.
