Esau Ancheyta-Hernandez Sentenced to Seven Years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the Offense of Criminal Sexual Assault

ESAU ANCHEYTA-HERNANDEZ SENTENCED TO SEVEN YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR THE OFFENSE OF CRIMINAL SEXUAL ASSAULT

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that 25-year-old Esau Ancheyta-Hernandez of Hebron, IL, was sentenced to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the offense of criminal sexual assault. Under truth in sentencing guidelines the defendant must serve 85 percent of the sentence. The defendant also must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

On October 13, 2017 the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a residence in Hebron in reference to a sexual assault. The defendant had been caught by the victim’s mother forcibly placing his finger in the vagina of the victim. The defendant fled the State of Illinois after the police were called and was subsequently apprehended in the State of Iowa.

Under the sex offender registration guidelines, upon his release from the department of corrections, the defendant must register his address and place of employment with law enforcement for the rest of his natural life.  

This case was investigated by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department and prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Michael Combs.
