Carol Waggoner, an RN Health Educator for the MCDH Community Health Program, oversees the classes. According to Carol, “The Health Department wants to make it easier for people with diabetes or prediabetes to participate in lifestyle change programs, helping to improve their overall health.
Participants must be 18 years of age and either be at risk for or diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. Caregivers for someone with Type II Diabetes are also eligible. Classes will help participants set weekly goals, brainstorm tips for meeting those goals and provide resources for managing diabetes.
