Mental Health Board - Awareness of Services
The 2017 Healthy Community Study Community Perceptions Assessment found that 21% of survey respondents who were unable to receive services cited they were not sure how to find mental health services. Subsequently, during a strategic planning process, the Mental Health Board and Network Council members elevated “Awareness of Services” to a significant community issue in need of attention.
Below is a listing of countywide efforts and activities underway to increase the community’s “Awareness of Services.”
- The Mental Health Board worked with the McHenry County Community Foundation to expand the MCHELP Mobile App to include countywide mental health, substance use, and intellectual and developmental disability related resources along with immediate crisis support and information via text or voice.
