Brian Odell Found Guilty of Armed Robbery, Armed Violence, Unlawful restraint and Mob Action

BRIAN ODELL FOUND GUILTY OF ARMED ROBBERY, ARMED VIOLENCE, UNLAWFUL RESTRAINT AND MOB ACTION

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that 39 year-old Brian Odell of Hanover Park, Illinois, was found guilty, after a jury trial, of the offenses of Armed Robbery, Armed Violence, Unlawful Restraint and Mob Action.  Odell will be sentenced on March 30, 2018 and faces between 6 and 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections

This case surrounds an incident from June 28, 2017, where Odell and a co-offender held a woman up at gunpoint and then stole her iPhone.  Odell and the co-offender also ordered two men to the ground at gunpoint, robbing one of the men of his wallet, and brutally beating both men.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorneys Randi Freese and Rita Gara.  The case investigation was led by Detective Shane Marshall of the Woodstock Police Department.
