Road salt is the most commonly used tool to manage snow and ice removal, but there are best practices to follow and sensible methods and alternatives to use that can be more environmentally friendly and cost-effective.

This workshop will be conducted by the McHenry County Division of Transportation and Division of Water Resources, the Village of Algonquin, the City of Crystal Lake, and the Village of Spring Grove. Calibration training provided by City of Crystal Lake staff. 

The $25 registration fee includes: course materials, breakfast, lunch, refreshments, and the opportunity to receive Level 1 Certification: Snow & Ice Best Management Practices.
