The Fugitive Apprehension Unit maintains active fugitive files for wanted subjects. The unit works closely with Federal/State Law Enforcement Agencies, as well as the Law Enforcement Officers in our community. The unit organizes periodic "arrest warrant sweeps" whereas Officers deploy into a specified area, arresting all persons with outstanding warrants. This has been effective in the past and future operations are pending.
Individuals assigned to the Fugitive Apprehension Unit receive specialized training and are members of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force Chicago. This membership provides electronic surveillance, manpower, nationwide networking, substantial federal resources, and a point of contact between local and federal law enforcement.
