The Maintenance Department oversees the repairs and maintenace of over 706,944 square feet in 19 buildings by using a computerized maintenance program. Trained and certified technicians perform preventative maintenance on 900 pieces of equipment. Approximately 8500 work orders are electronically submitted annually to and completed by department technicians.

The Maintenance Division services McHenry County Buildings five days a week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. After hours on-call emergency maintenance is available. All work order requests should be placed using the work order system. For emergency response call Ext. 4016 during normal business hours.

The department is also responsible for room set-ups, snow removal, lawn and grounds maintenance, as well as energy management. The County has received numerous certifications and awards for energy efficiency through the efforts of the Maintenance Department.
