Who is it designed for?
Professional Land Records users. * If your firm needs frequent access to the land records in the McHenry County Recorder’s Office, you may wish to obtain online access.
How much does it cost?
For your convenience the cost of this service is only $250.00 quarterly, paid in advance, per license issued. Make checks payable to McHenry County Recorder. Cost to print a copy of a document at your site is $1.50 for the first page of each document and $.50 for each additional page.
What information is available on line?
The index of real estate documents and document images recorded since January 1, 1874 through the current effective search date. The McHenry County Recorder’s Office is doing an on going backfile conversion of their microfilm, converting it to images. We now have 157 years of documents indexed and imaged on computer, and are working on the backfile conversion of documents prior to 1874.
What technical requirements are there?
You are required to have MS Windows 2000 or better. You must have MS Internet Explorer version 4.0 or better, and turn on the "active X" feature of that program. You will need to be connected to the Internet. A fast processor, modem and large, high-resolution screen are recommended.
What do I need to do to get my firm online?
You will need to sign two agreements, one for the County Recorder's Office and the other for the software vendor. (click on Blue Link) You will then receive your user name and password to login. Please include your check with your original, signed agreements.
How do I proceed?
Email (click on Blue Link) the County Recorder, Phyllis K. Walters and give your company name, a contact person, phone number, complete street address, fax number and email address. Indicate if you wish to receive an agreement by fax or regular mail.
