HUD Grant Programs
The Community Development Division Administers five federally funded grant programs through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. As applicable, the Division will post Notices of Funding Availability (NOFA) for each program and application requirements and documentation.
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)

HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME)
HOME is the largest Federal block grant to State and local governments designed exclusively to create affordable housing for low-income households. HOME provides grants annually to States and communities like McHenry County that often partnership with local for profit and nonprofit groups to fund a wide range of activities that build, buy, and/or rehabilitate affordable housing for rent or homeownership or provide direct rental assistance to low-income people.

Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) Certifications:
Please contact the Division for more information regarding McHenry County's CHDO Programming.
Potential CHDO organizations are required to complete a CHDO Certification Application. Previsiouly certified CHDO organizations are required to be certified in full every two (2) years, and may obtain a recertification valid for a contracted obligation during a two year certification period. Continuum of Care (CoC)
There Contimuum of Care meets monthly to discuss and plan for the providing of necessarry services for the homeless of McHenry County.
